ABOUT OUR ENSEMBLES

The OHS Wind Symphony is the premiere band instrumental ensemble at Ola High School. The band performs nationally for collegiate concert festivals and consistently earns superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE) every year. The group performs Level 6 literature (out of a 1-6 scale based on difficulty and demand sanctioned by Georgia Music Educators Association.

The OHS Symphonic Winds is an advanced instrumental ensemble offered at OHS. The band performs 4 times a year and consistently earns superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE) every year. The group performs Level 5 literature (out of a 1-6 scale based on difficulty and demand sanctioned by Georgia Music Educators Association.

The OHS Symphonic Band is an intermediate instrumental ensemble offered at OHS. The band performs 4 times a year and consistently earns superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE) every year. The group performs Level 3-4 literature (out of a 1-6 scale based on difficulty and demand sanctioned by Georgia Music Educators Association.

The OHS Jazz Band is a select ensemble of the finest players in the program. The group performs consistently throughout the year at school functions, band concerts, henry county events, and state-wide jazz festivals. Though the group is only comprised of saxophone, trombone, trumpet, drum set, guitar and keyboard; the jazz ensemble explores a variety of genres. 

The Ola High School Percussion Ensemble is designed to help percussion students further their musical skills outside of the wind bands. Students will rehearse and perform with others on literature written specifically for percussion instruments.
